What surprises will emerge when the fragrance of ancient tea meets technological innovation? Ningbo Siming Chunlu Tea Industry Development Co., Ltd. is providing the answer through continuous product innovation. Recently, at the "Leading the Future, Connecting the New Tea Beverage Industry" production and sales matchmaking event held by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in Shengzhou, the company's "Chunlu Xuecui" jasmine tea freeze-dried powder became the focus of attention. This first-of-its-kind freeze-dried tea powder product in the province signifies that Yuyao's traditional tea industry is making a strong entry into the "new tea beverage" market with its technological and innovative approach.
"This new product is the result of our years of research and development, aiming to solve the pain points of traditional tea beverage consumption," said Jiang Liping, head of Ningbo Siming Chunlu Tea Industry Development Co., Ltd. She explained that the inspiration for the development came from a friend's complaint about the hassle of brewing tea. How can tea be freed from the constraints of teaware and hot water, becoming as convenient as modern beverages without losing its flavor? The answer is freeze-drying technology. The company selects tea leaves from its own tea gardens in Siming Mountain, Yuyao, and high-quality jasmine flowers from Hengzhou, Guangxi. Through traditional green tea processing and multiple scenting techniques, followed by modern freeze-drying technology to lock in the aroma and extract the flavor, they have created "Spring Dew Snow Extract."
The vitality of innovative products is ultimately tested by the market. "Spring Dew Snow Extract" quickly became popular upon its launch, receiving bulk orders from local businesses. With the help of the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, it was also showcased and sold at the "Gongfu Workshop" in the VIP area of Ningbo Lishe International Airport, with frequent restocking. In addition, the R&D team has launched two new products: "Siming Spring Dew" black tea bags and jasmine tea bags. A collaboration with "Jiajiafu" supermarket to set up a "New Tea Drinks" counter is also underway, aiming to allow more citizens to experience these unique Yuyao tea drinks.
Regarding portability innovation, the company team has also developed portable tea bags in various flavors and packaging, including green tea, white tea, and black tea, becoming a "pocket tea" for many office workers and students. “Previously, young people found brewing tea troublesome, but now they can enjoy pure tea in seconds, which has won them over,” said Jiang Liping.
The confidence in innovation stems from Siming Chunlu's long-term commitment to quality. Walking into its 100-acre ecological tea garden, one finds that manual weeding and green disease and pest control are used throughout the process, ensuring the naturalness and health of the tea leaves through ecological methods. In 2025, the tea garden obtained green food certification, organic conversion certification, and Lishui Mountain Farming Quality Certification. The company has also acquired over 100 acres of abandoned flower and tree land, developing a “colorful tea garden” with yellow, green, white, and purple hues. It has installed sprinkler and drip irrigation facilities, railcar transportation devices, and used biodegradable membrane weeding and moisture-retaining technology. Furthermore, it has developed a corn-tea tree sharing model, laying a solid foundation for creating a tourism-oriented and mutually beneficial tea garden.
The market boundaries extend far beyond this. Jiang Liping's sights are set on the global market. She revealed, "We have completed customs registration, and our products have received positive feedback from overseas customers. Our next step is to actively expand into international markets such as India and Egypt." Simultaneously, she is collaborating with Jiangnan University on projects and discussing collaborations with the China Tea Research Institute to further improve tea product quality and extend the tea industry chain.
In market expansion, Siming Chunlu adheres to tradition while also venturing into new territories. In addition to its traditional sales channels in four stores in the city, the company is actively developing e-commerce, expanding its sales channels on platforms such as Alibaba and Taobao. E-commerce sales now account for more than 30% of total sales. Through an integrated online and offline development model, its products are sold throughout the country. In 2025, Siming Chunlu also appeared on a special subway train featuring Ningbo's time-honored brands, showcasing its brand alongside 10 other Ningbo enterprises, including Dongfuyuan and Loumaoji.
"In the future, we will adhere to a dual-drive approach of 'standardized raw material production' and 'diversified tea beverage design,' continuously innovating and developing to allow Yuyao's famous and high-quality teas to break through traditional boundaries and open up entirely new market opportunities," Jiang Liping stated.
